EVS conference in Gothenburg
2 July 2025
EVTools’ Stein and I recently returned from the EVS conference in Gothenburg with fresh insights! What stood out?
CPOs and cities across Europe consistently express the same pain point: the process to jointly arrive at new or changing charger locations is fragmented, time-consuming, and lacks coordination between stakeholders.
While many separate tools exist for network planning, calculations, monitoring, optimisation or infrastructure management, a truly integrated, multi-stakeholder approach to charger location management is still rare — even as demand grows rapidly.
Key observations:
- In most countries, local governments rely more heavily on market players than is typical in the Netherlands and Flanders
- The ecosystem of EV infrastructure software and data tools has exploded — bringing with it a new level of complexity and integration challenges.
- There’s a growing need for interoperability and collaboration across platforms, both technical and commercial, to accelerate the maturity of the sector.
The industry is clearly moving fast — and smarter, more connected solutions are in high demand.
Great energy at the event and exciting momentum for what’s next.
